Song of the Week: Pretty Balloons

Lyrics:

I see red balloons, red balloons in the air
I see green balloons green balloons everywhere
I see white balloons, white balloons floating by
So many pretty balloons in the sky

I see black balloons, black balloons above a crowd
I see blue balloons blue, balloons below a cloud
I see pink balloons pink, balloons way up high
So many pretty balloons in the sky

Balloons, balloons!!!

I see orange balloons, orange balloons above a tree
I see brown balloons brown, balloon right above me
I see purple balloons purple, balloons drifting nearby
So many pretty balloons in the sky

I see gray balloons, gray balloons that’s what I see
Yellow balloons, yellow balloons floating free
Rainbow balloons, rainbow balloons I can’t deny
So many pretty balloons in the sky

Spring Festival

Hello everybody,

Last week at school, we celebrated the Spring Festival. During the whole week students participated in different competitions.

In our classroom, students began practicing with Blending Word, and then we started doing the competition. Anteaters were very competitive so it made it difficult to find the winner in our classroom, but at the end Arturo Granda won first place in our classroom.

Then, it was the time for the English song competition, the girls were very enthusiastic and showed a lot of grace when they were singing the song “Sailing in My Boat”, the winners of this competitions were: Ainhoa Valdivieso, Ximena Leigh, Luciana Palacios, Valeria Gordillo and Mónica Figueroa.

One, of the most difficult competition was the Maths contest: Playing with Addition. The students needed to write the answer and say the result of each addition, I was glad to find that many of my students loved doing this contest and had a great attitude during the whole competition. The winner in our classroom was: Nicolás Canales.

During the Spring Festival, students created their own stories in Spanish. All the Anteaters create a sequence of 3 slides and used the Butai to tell the story. This technic is known as Kamishibai*. All the stories were so good, but we needed to choose a winner, who was it: José Mariano Solis:

Finally came the main day,  it  was  time to know who were the winners of all kinder classes, and I more than happy to say that, our finalist were in the top 3 of each competition:
  • Blending Words: 2nd place: Nicolas Canales
  • English Song: 2nd place: Ainhoa Valdivieso, Ximena Leigh, Luciana Palacios, Valeria Gordillo and Mónica Figueroa.
  • Playing with additions:  2nd place: Nicolás Canales.

Congratulations Kinder Ateaters

Library Visit

Hello everybody,

On Thursday we visited the library and shared a great story. Also, at the library we met the new volunteer Lauren, she is from England and she was happy to read us the story “Opposites”. Anteaters loved the story and they were excited when it was time to answer the questions that Lauren asked.

Thanks Lauren!

Experiment: How To Do the Bouncy Egg

Hello everybody,

On Friday, we visited the Lab, and we made an experiment. We placed a few eggs in a container, then we added vinegar so to cover the eggs and finally we covered the container. We put it in the refrigerator and let the eggs sit in the vinegar for 24 hours.

On Monday we will find out what will happened with the eggs! We can hardly wait!

Update *24/08/2015: You won’t believe what happened! The eggshell dissolved, and we can play with the eggs and make then bounce.

Flaps his wings baby chick,

In these fun pattern games for kindergarten and preschool, silly pictures make patterns that repeat. Can you find the patterns that repeat the same way?

Early Childhood Education Week

Hello everybody!

A few weeks ago, all the students from Early Years had a special celebration: Early Childhood Education Week. All the students participated in different activities. On Monday, they made a lovely poster and decorated it with different materials.

On the second day, all the pupils participated in a parade, and Kinder Anteaters said the phrase: “Let’s Celebrate the Joy of Being Part of Early Years”.

On the third day, all the students made a craft to remember Early Childhood Education Week. And on the last day, students had the chance to watch a surprise show that Early Years teachers prepared for them.

All in all everything was fantastic.

Cheers!

Miss Marijú
